Interview with Candye Kane

As part of the exhibition The Experimental Impulse, Ariane Roesch focused on the cross-over between the Los Angeles Punk and Country music scene in the late 1970s/ early 1980s. She conducted this interview with Candye Kane as research into the Los Angeles music scene.

Candye Kane is a country and blues singer/songwriter/performer who was part of the punk rock music scene in Los Angeles in the early 1980s. She started country punk bands and befriended and shared the stage with musicians as diverse as Black Flag, Social Distortion, James Harman, The Circle Jerks, Los Lobos, The Blasters and Lone Justice.
