Subject to Change: Guerrilla Television Revisited
“Video pioneers didn’t use covered wagons; they built media vans for their cross-country journeys colonizing the vast wasteland of American television.”
This 1985 Art Journal essay tells the history of TVTV (Top Value Television), a pioneering San Francisco–based video collective active from 1972–79. The collective included members of Ant Farm and Videofreex, and it was co-founded by Michael Shamberg, author of the 1971 DIY video production manual Guerrilla Television.
