West magazine (slideshow)
West was a weekly magazine supplement of the Los Angeles Times from 1967-1972, art directed by Mike Salisbury and remembered as “a masterwork of design erudition, appreciated by those who could care less about design.” Salisbury was recruited from Carson-Roberts Advertising in LA, an agency that also employed Ed Ruscha (layout artist) and Terry Gilliam (illustrator and copywriter). This link directs to a slideshow of 22 West covers.
