Publications Assistant (Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internship)

East of Borneo is seeking a Publications Assistant/Intern to support the editorial activities of the magazine. The internship will be located in the East of Borneo office in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. The internship will provide valuable training in online publishing, research, and editing, as well as hands-on experience with events, marketing initiatives, and book distribution. The Publications Assistant/Intern will have the opportunity to learn about art criticism, curatorial research, arts administration, and non-profit management.

This is a ten-week, full-time internship that must be completed between June 3 and August 23, 2019. The total pay for this ten-week internship period is $5700.

About the Getty Multicultural Internship Program / Eligibility
The Getty Foundation has offered funding to over 90 Los Angeles-area museums and visual arts organizations for Multicultural Undergraduate Internships during summer 2019. The internships are intended for outstanding students who are members of groups underrepresented in museums and visual arts organizations, including but not limited to individuals of African American, Asian, Latino/Hispanic, Native American, and Pacific Islander descent.

Eligibility for the internships is limited to currently enrolled undergraduates who reside in or attend college in Los Angeles County. Students must have completed at least one semester of college by June 2019, and those who will complete their degree by September 1, 2019, are also eligible to apply. Candidates can be sought from all areas of undergraduate study and are not required to have demonstrated a previous commitment to the visual arts.
