Andrea Bowers has explored individual expression within society at large, including sports and rock fans as well as political activists. Her work offers a uniquely feminist critique, eliding dogma for dissent and exploding simple notions of radicality. Her 2006 exhibition at REDCAT included new works on paper, sculpture, and video installations that explore historical events and, by extension, our current political environment. Nothing is Neutral was accompanied by this exhibition catalogue featuring writings by Mary LeClere, Eungie Joo and others.
