Pico & Sepulveda!

A catchy musical clip from the 1982 cult film “The Forbidden Zone,” which was directed by Richard Elfman and was the first film to be scored by his brother, Danny. The film was based on the stage performances of the Mystic Knights of Oingo Boingo, a performance art group formed in 1972 that later shortened its name and became a popular new wave band.

This clip features the song “Pico and Sepulveda,” recorded by bandleader and saxophonist Freddy Martin in 1947 under the alias “Felix Figueroa and his Orchestra.” It was played regularly on the Dr. Demento radio show in the 1970s.
